Glass fasteners for stuctural bolt facades – Saint-Gobain tower
Courbevoie, France
Saint-Gobain’s new head office has recently moved to the heart of the La Défense district in Paris.
The 44-storey tower stands out for its light, transparent architecture, brilliantly designed by the Valode & Pistre architectural firm.
It is the result of collaborative work between the companies Eiffage, Hefi and SADEV, which made it possible to create the envelope at the foot and head of the building, composed of thousands of facets of glass.
SADEV not only designed and produced the glass fateners for the two structural bolt facades and their systems for fixing them to the structure, but also manufactured the spherical plain bearings according to the Saint-Gobain specifications (Technical Opinion).
The characteristics of the S3030 L fastener allowed here to meet all the requirements of the suspended structure of the tower base but also the high wind loads of the head located at 165 m high.
