Inaugurated on October 27, 2014, the Louis Vuitton Foundation is an architectural feat.
The building has a floor area of 4,500 m², with 11,700 m² of usable space and offers nearly 3,500 m² of exhibition galleries, some of which are pierced by huge skylights.
SADEV fasteners were used in various trades: construction of glass panels for the building envelope, glass balustrades around the building, curved glass panels for the interior.
SADEV’s technical added value
Its design office in partnership with the company holding the market to optimise costs and the manufacture of stainless steel castings with complex geometry that hold the glass of the building envelope (CONSTRUCT solution). SADEV also brought its expertise in the follow-up, traceability and specific control of the parts.

The new building located in the heart of Paris, was redesign by architect Rudy Ricciotti and the reconstruction under the direction of Leon Grosse. The company had the benefit of SADEV’s expertise in order to deal with the technical and temporal contraints.
The building enveloppe was completely renovated and the roof covered with 3543 panels composed of ultra high performance fiber concrete. The cover combining concrete and glass, rests on a steel structure and the connection between them is made by a special metal part supplied by SADEV.
SADEV at the heart of innovation in Nimes (France)
On the 2nd of June 2018, the new Museum in Nîmes opened its doors to the general public and reveal its innovative and original architecture. At the heart of Nîmes, the Museum faces the Roman Arena, highlighting even more the architectural contrast opposing those two buildings.
One of the wishes of Elizabeth de Portzamparc, leader of the project, was to establish a dialogue between two different structures separated by 2 000 years of history. About 7 000 screen-printed glass panels cover the Museum and drape it like a modern Roman toga.
The glass-squared facade also reminds of the Roman mosaic exhibited within the Museum collections. This technologic achievement is a world premiere and required the use of innovative methods to give life to the project.
SADEV especially enabled the adaptation of specific pieces to the constraints that such a unique structure necessitates, keeping the same ethereal aspect originally designed. Indeed, the construction of a 2 500 m² glass facade was only possible thanks to the fixing screw design which permitted to respect the architect first wish to highlight the glass facade and hide any fixation mark. In order to do that, we used a specific screw system, adapting the tint to the glass.
The U Arena project can be considered as an unconventional project, as the stadium will “indoor” host the rugby team “Racing-Metro 92” and become the European largest concert hall, thanks to a flexible capacity from 10 000 to 40 000 seats.
Closed to the hall will be located a 30 000 sqm. building, hosting the General Council Headquarter.
An Architectural work
This 117 000 sqm. urban area has been conceived and designed by the French famous architect Christian de Portzamparc.
The project takes part of the “Sei-ne-Arche” operation, as the Arena is located at the foot of Grande Arche la Defense.
SADEV Contribution
The Arena stands are covered by a crown of wavy concrete, under which stands the facade, composed of glass and aluminum scales.
The 3 levels’ facade have been equipped with high-size scales that are transparent, mixt or opaque.
