SABCO frameless glass balustrade – LE LARVOTTO – Monaco

SABCO frameless glass balustrade – LE LARVOTTO – Monaco

The famous Italian architect Renzo Piano designed this project in partnership with Deverini Architects. The goal was to elevate the waterfront to the same quality standard as the Promenade Princesse Grace while aligning it with the continuity of the Mareterra project. Simplification and unification were the key principles behind this realization. Renzo Piano envisioned a space that followed the distinctive curve of the bay, giving it geometric continuity while creating an inviting environment for both users and businesses.

The SABCO railing system was, therefore, a perfectly suited solution to provide transparency and depth to this promenade, enhancing the beauty of the Monaco coastline. The adjustment capability of our 7010 rail systems’ glass balustrade allowed for precise alignment of the guardrails. Our team also provided technical support by supplying calculation notes to meet linear force and wind load constraints.

SADEV’s role:
SADEV supplied 600 linear meters of SABCO 7010 glass guardrails with calculation notes. This configuration of balustrades, including a curved section and our glass handrails, ensures pedestrian safety without compromising the stunning landscape of the Monaco bay.

Glass sunbreaker on facade – IMREDD – France

Glass sunbreaker on facade – IMREDD – France

A high energy performance building

In order to make the building more transparent and open, the “Atelier Barani” opted for a system of fixed external sunbreakers made of opalescent glass.

These glass slats are distributed vertically and horizontally, according to the different exposures of the building’s façades. This principle guarantees the transparency of the facades.

The depths of the opalescent glass sunscreens have been dimensioned, per façade, according to the path of the sun, in order to prevent the sun’s rays from penetrating in summer and to diffuse the luminosity inside the spaces.

The role of SADEV

SADEV’s teams worked from the prescription to the delivery of the glass slat holding system, validated by obtaining an ATEX by COVERIS. Some of these sunshades can reach a depth of over 1.4 metres.

A glass skywalk made-to-measure project – Les gorges du pont du diable

A glass skywalk made-to-measure project – Les gorges du pont du diable

THE DEVIL’S STEP “A real technical challenge. ”
A glass skywalk project, surrounded by glass balustrades.
This structure is suspended at 50 meters above the Dranse river, under the Pont du Diable rocky cave (Morzine – FRANCE).
The walkways and glass skywalker enable over 50,000 visitors every season to discover this original and spectacular site!
Since 2012, the gorges are part of the UNESCO Chablais Geopark, a territory that is renowned worldwide for its remarkable geology.

FACTORS THAT LEAD TO THIS SUCCESSFUL PROJECT
The complementary technical approach of two companies.
ACRO BTP (our customer), for their mastery of complex structure construction.
SADEV, for our engineering and design department support in: engineering studies, calculations and compliance with standards.

PROJECT CONSTRAINTS
• Restricted environment in a rocky cave
• Climatic and live loads
• French safety standards (CSTB 3448, CSTB 3034…)
• Tight project deadline, opening planned before the summer season

SADEV ENGINEERING STUDIES, CALCULATIONS & IMPLEMENTATION
• Realisation of a made-to-measure glass skywalk and of our SABCO glass balustrade system (with led)
• Parts modeling and optimization
• Calculation and FEM for justification
• Support and assistance with products tests

Motorized vertical solar shading – Quais University

Motorized vertical solar shading – Quais University

University centre located near the quays in France, composed of a complex of buildings from different universities, student accommodation, etc. All of which can accommodate around 120,000 students.

The role of SADEV
For this project, SADEV produced a motorized vertical brise-soleil system installed on part of the building. This allows users to control the amount of light entering the building and to regulate the temperature.

SADEV’s technical added value
Design, modeling and manufacturing of a motorized solar shading system
Calculation and FEM for justification
Accompaniment to ATEX.
